One thing you must not miss in Finland is the city of Helsinki. Not only is it the capital of Finland, it is also the largest city. It is very modernized, but still has some historical features. You can visit the famed market square or one of the many art galleries and museums. You could also visit Esplanade park for a relaxing day or take in the cuisine at one of the Michelin star rated restaurants. No matter what you plan to do, Helsinki is a must-see.

Rauma is another location that you do not want to miss. It is a small town located on the southwestern coast of Finland. Visiting this town will give you the true Finnish experience. You will get insight to the culture and really see how the locals live. The town has sections with cobblestone streets and buildings dating back to the 18th century. The old wooden houses of this Nordic village are something that everyone must see.

Oulu is one of the biggest cities in the country and is another must-see. It is towards the center of the country and is along the western coast. It is home to the Screaming Men’s Choir and the Air Guitar World Championship. Any place that is known for such obscure things is bound to be entertaining.

Rovaniemi is an excellent place to visit in the winter months because it is home to Santa Claus’ Village. You will be able to see Santa Clause, the reindeer and take one of the many tours through the region. Rovaniemi is also an excellent place to view the northern lights. If you go in the month of December you will get the best view of the natural spectacle of lights.

Finland has a lot to offer. It has winter wonderlands, historical towns, lush forests and beautiful views of the shoreline. Finland also has a large variety of historical museums, art galleries, unique landmarks and unique wildlife. Taking a vacation in Finland will leave you feeling like you has stepped into another world and memories to last a lifetime.
